Salt Dough Pumpkins and Ghosts
The other day, Tommy and I made salt dough ghosts and pumpkins. This couldn't be easier! All it is is 1 cup salt, 1 cup flour, 1 cup water. Mix together and you've got the dough! Tommy then got to roll out the dough and use our Halloween cookie cutters to make the ghosts and pumpkins. We then microwaved them to make them hard. Once they cooled, we painted them. He had a great time. I plan on doing this again for Christmas so I have some homemade ornaments on the tree. Don't be surprised if some of these ornaments end up at your house too!!

Ghost Train Ride
Last weekend, Chris and Mike headed to the USC game, so Jenna and I decided to take the kids on a ghost train ride! Charlie, Tommy, and Mallory had a great time on the train. They weren't scared at all! After the train ride, they had cider and apples and watched the trains go by. It was a great afternoon!

Chocolate Milk Disaster
The other night before dinner, Tommy requested chocolate milk to drink. I asked Chris if he could make it for him as I was finishing up making dinner. Never did I know what a disaster this could turn into. Chocolate milk, simple enough, right? Not so much. I've learned in the past, sometimes it's just easier for me to do the extra things instead involving the boys because then I just end up doing more work anyways, this is one of those times I just should have done it. Well, Chris thought it would be fun to use the small electric mixer to stir the milk and put Tommy on the counter to help. Why he couldn't use a spoon like a normal person would, I'm not sure. I'm also not quite sure why Tommy had to be standing on the counter to do this, whatever, I've learned to pick my battles with those two. The next thing I know, the cup has flown across the kitchen. A full glass of milk spilled all over the counter, the floor, the cabinets, and the dishwasher. Don't forget this was chocolate milk too, so the syrup was all over these items in the kitchen too. I shot Chris a look and said that's your job. So Tommy, Chris, and of course Molly, helped to clean the mess. Needless to say, I ended up making the chocolate milk for Tommy, stirring it with a spoon and had no problems keeping everything in the cup.

Pumpkin Patch!
The rain finally let up in Michigan and we were able to get out to the pumpkin patch. Tommy was so excited as soon as we pulled up. This pumpkin patch had many straw animals, a wooden train, and a wooden tractor, plus pumpkins! Tommy loved climbing all through the train and also sitting on the tractor, ringing the bell. We finally had to convince him it was time to get his pumpkin. We directed him to the area where he could pick them out. He kept saying "How bout this one?" Chris and I would look at the pumpkin and then look at each other trying to figure out how to tell him he needed to choose a different one because the one he chose was green, or warty, or just a very odd shape. It was like Charlie Brown picking out a Christmas tree. Finally Chris stepped up and picked out a nice pumpkin and asked him if that one was okay, Tommy agreed as long as he could go back on the train, disaster avoided! Anyways, a good time was had by all and we can't wait to carve a pirate pumpkin! Tommy requested that!
